is designed by Gary Sugal for saxophonists who aspire to have that  thick soulful contemporary sound and love that classic Breckerish 90’s brilliant sound. 

The qualities of The  3D MB  IV +s  ALTO include a fat, kind of soulful wet, sound, with outstanding harmonics, controlled power that offers lots of edge, focus projection, and ease of play. 

The  3D MB  IV +s  ALTO when digging into the low end of the horn has spontaneous articulation and resonates without lag.  This model demonstrates  exceptional evenness flow into every register particularly into the altissimo register.  

Sugal’s famous compound radius inside the baffle along with the exclusive bullet chamber enables air to flow evenly into a medium sized chamber. All of these attributes allow for outstanding resonance, ease of play, and complete control of every note in all registers of the horn.

The  3D MB  IV +s  ALTO mouthpiece now includes 3D crated side tip rails and a perfected body, making this model, free blowing, powerful, with a centered sound.  

Manufactured in Rhode Island on in house hi-tech 3D printers.  The  The  3D MB  IV +s  ALTO is an upgrade from the MB II (Sugal added the bullet chamber)  and is the pro’s pro choice mouthpiece. It includes all of the older attributes with added hand finishing for a more focused powerful sound with projection, edge, and ease of play. Every mouthpiece is  play tested for superior quality by Gary Sugal, prior to leaving the factory.

The 3D MB  IV +s  ALTO is comfortable in the mouth and designed aerodynamically embrace the contour  of the embouchure.  

Produced from a proprietary formula of brass, copper, tine powered metal   the  material helps the player to attain a  individual  sound  

The refined powder metal allows the material“to breathe” resonate warm harmonics without ever sounding “gritty” “nasal” or “kazooish”. 

Side and tip rails as well as the body have been created in a high end cad program to be perfect.

Every mouthpiece prior to delivery is thoroughly play tested by Gary Sugal and includes Sugal’s famous built on sliding ligature newly designed slide-on cap

Response throughout the full range of the horn from low Bb to as high as you can go into the altissimo-it  is all even. 

Due to the design of the built on ligature and uniquely -styled cap the mouthpiece is genuinely “reed friendly” to all popular brands of reeds.  Leave the reed on the mouthpiece on a Monday and it is ready to play Friday. 

The 3D MB  IV +s  ALTO is treated with a food safe coating and is  hygienically and will last for decades.
