RE: HISTORY
In 2003 Gary Sugal visited with a well known boat building firm based out of Newport RI . He requested them to create some fiber carbon bar stock that he wanted to use to make mouthpieces.
The material when polished is beautiful . They fabricated into square bar stock the material that measured 4 ½ x 1 inch square .However, in the final stages of machining the material broke apart and after several failed attempts the project had to be cancelled.
In May of 2020 Gary Sugal heard about one firm that produced Carbon Fiber that manufactured carbon fiber material suitable for 3D printin and had a great deal more strength an durability than the 2003 carbon fiber material had.
After six weeks of trial and error testing Sugal was able to produce a tenor mouthpiece that played amazing , He created three new models that are currently available : MB II and KW II .and the Yeti.
All three models, the MB II ( CF) and KW II (CF) and the Yeti (CF) actually have the same g/code and i/o dimensions as there CNC metal versions.
